Medical QiGong Teaching Certification
I have been teaching Inner Strength Medical QiGong for over 10 years across the country, and I have come to realize the stark differences in energy training methods and the people who use them.
I have come painfully aware of the lack of solid standards in Medical QiGong training, Reiki, Energy Medicine, Bioresonance Therapy, Touch for Health,Endogenous Regulatory Forces and Energy Kinesiology to name a few of the more popular energy medicine models. To be candid, most energy based healing systems are based on either a Buddhist (chakra) or Taoist (Dan Tian) Chinese medical model. The problem is; the depth of the meridian system has been ignored to "simplify" teaching and increase profit making. Without the depth of understanding or self-induced practice, the healer is a danger to themselves and others. Do not get me wrong, I am not against capitalism, however, when it comes to being ethically responsible for someone's health care, or saving their life - that is where I draw the line.
Sensing energy is easy and simple - we are all gifted in that respect.
However, interpreting what subtle energy fluctuations mean in relation to
the patient can be confusing - especially if you confuse your own
fluctuations with the patients! Moreover, correcting imbalances in some
else's energy field without knowing self from the non-self is enormously
dangerous. Knowing yourself and clearing away self-blockage (trauma/micro
trauma) is critical. How many energy practitioners work on self-cultivation everyday?
Without proper developmental techniques in a succinct progression, the
student or soon to be healer, is vulnerable to mis-alignment and Qi
deviations that can show up in a variety of pathologies and deviations of
mind and consciousness - although most times the student is unaware. This is especially true of courses that only require 100 or so hours to "certify'one as an energy therapist. Minimal training hours do not season you properly for what is about to come and places the student into the energy world unprepared. Granted, there are some who can do energy work with minimal training, but they are few and far between. This similar to trusting someone to wire your house (analogous to the wiring the meridians of your body) after reading a how-to book one time or taking a week long course - they may get it right, but would you trust that it won't burn down around you?
Additionally, having background in psychology helps, but the world of energy healing is different from psychological models learned in college. The psychology profession delves little, if any, into the world of faith (not religion) but true spirituality of beyond death and what that means to us as homo sapiens. Human beings certainly like to think they're wise, and, in fact, the word "Homo sapiens" ("humankind") comes in part from the Latin word "sapiens," meaning "wise" or "intelligent." "Sapiens" in turn comes from the verb "sapere," which means "to be wise" (and which also gave us "sage" and "savant"). To be wise or intelligent in the energy world, one must have many experiential lessons induced by different training methods.
Additionally, Medical QiGong is not Taijichuan training or even Gung Fu
training - is unique unto itself. Although some techniques may "cross over" as stand alone drills, the depth of training in Inner Strength Medical QiGong is arranged along very specific guidelines of grounding the person first before allowing that individual to progress into areas of emotional and spiritual development. Emotional and spiritual development may challenge their current ideas and belief's about themselves.
Inner Strength's Medical QiGong and Chinese Health Practitioner program is about developing a sense of enlightenment - letting go of fear - letting go of ego - letting go of self-destructive thoughts so that you may serve your clients without any preconceived judgment - or seeing through glasses tinted by your own issues (transference). Yes this is difficult, and that is why the instruction takes time and cannot be rushed. Every one of our students goes through physical, emotional and spiritual epiphanies repeatedly - when they do the program as directed. The term life-changing is used so much that it almost has lost its true impact - but that is what happens here.
In the Heart Sutra, where Bodhisattva Avalokita spoke to Shariputra saying that, "Form is emptiness, emptiness is form. Form does not differ from emptiness, emptiness does not differ from form. The same is true with feelings, perceptions, mental formations and consciousness." It is
abundantly clear to me that Avalokitae is speaking of creation of the
universe as well as creation of ourselves (our mental paradigms), our
suffering, our understanding and our enlightenment. This transcendence is
necessary when dealing with the terminally ill, the chronic conditions of
mental and physical instabibility that ultimately links us to what we
really yearn for - spiritual growth and peace.
The third Zen patriarch Hsin Hsin Ming said:
"The Way is perfect like vast space
where nothing is lacking and nothing is in excess.
Indeed, it is due to our choosing to accept or reject
that we do not see the true nature of things."
Inner Strength Medical QiGong allows the person to see the true nature of
things - to take off the glasses of delusion - and see clearly for the first time in their life. Then and only then, should a healer be working on someone elses energy matrix to allow them to see clearly!
P.S. I realize that this is an opinion and that The Great Way states that
one should not have any opinions. However, I make this commentary out of
compassion - as I see many people who come into my clinic suffering due to the incorrect energy practice that they are invoking.

Thank you graciously for this lesson that is beyond what I had imagined the answer to my question of Reiki lessons might be. Thank you for referring to it in your response to my question. I have not heard back about the date of the next MQ1 class. Hope to hear from you soon. judy
