Energy Medicine for Dogs and Cats

One of the most rewarding practices I think that I have is the ability to use Energy Medicine, specifically the modalities of Medical QiGong for animals. Here at Inner Strength, cancer, tumors, pain management, hip dysplasia, and anxiety can all be treated effectively.

The wonderful about this type of practiceis the compliance and absolute comfort that it brings to our furry friends.Unlike acupuncture, it requires no needles that have to be stuck in the skinand you do not have to worry about the dog/cat scratching, licking or bumpingthe needles out during the treatment! This makes the technique much more effective - effective means fewer treatments! Not only from a cost perspective, but some animals do not travel well, and every visit outside their home is traumatic to an already ill companion.

Much to the dismay of most acupuncturists, the conventional system of taking a human vertical acupuncture chart and laying it horizontal on an animal does not always work and in my opinion is incorrect. In ancient China, where acupuncture was developed, man was suspended between Heaven and Earth. In other words, the top of the head was Heaven and the perineum was Earth with the “Ladder of Life” (the spine) between. All channels of acupuncture follow the same trajectory (except for theBelt Vessel and the Luo's) of the Yang flowing from the top to the bottom and the Yin flowing from bottom to top in a parallel fashion. In overlaying the concept to animals by just rotating it 90 degrees, it does not follow any of the basic foundations of acupuncture.

Moreover, the spine and the pointson the Bladder channel that is found by using the  vertebra as a map, can very in animals. For example, a horse has 18 vertebra instead of the 12 on a human. Additionally, some points like LI4 (Large Intestine four) do not actually exist on animals resulting from the anatomical structure being different than man (a hoof vs. a hand).

We use our hands to generate bio-electromagnetic energy that facilitates healing. The hands, when placed onany living thing can be enormously comforting and therapeutic. Learning togenerate enough energy and to vary its output to perform healing takes practiceand technique. There are many energy healing techniques out there today (Reiki,Touch for Health, Total Body Modification (TBM) etc.),  but only Medical QiGong practitioners have been scientifically measured to have a Hz range from 8 to 40hz. One hertz means one frequency cycle per second. Various hertz ranges are needed to combat various ills and different kinds of pain.

One thing is the same though, and that is the development of the electromagnetic force giving rise to the perineural nervous system. This electromagnetic force aligns neurons and glialcells along a parallel vector with a specific directionality- laying the roadwork for the perineural.  The perineural nervous system developes first, before the central nervous system(the CNS), with the nerves of the CNS growing along the pathways lay down bythe electromagnetic force. QiGong, Medical QiGong and Chinese HealthPractitioners (especially here at Inner Strength where we teach a considerable in-depthunderstanding of this system) use this electromagnetic force to help heal by realigning the electromagnetic force and/or strengthening the pathways.

If you could imagine your bodybeing wrapped in gauze and interspersed with blood vessels, nerves and all your organs suspended in this gauze - you would have a picture of the myofascialsystem. It can be very thin, like the superficial fascia underneath your skin that contains nerves, fat and capillaries. This is often what we can feel whenwe have something swollen or a lump. Other myofascia includes the fascia used to separate the ribs from the lungs as well as a third type that covers your organs and keeps them lubricated.

Within the myofascia of animalsand humans, there is an often unheard of part called ground substance. Groundsubstance is linked to the collagen fibers that help form connective tissue.Ground substance facilitates metabolism and provides shock absorbion (Iron vesttraining in martial arts) by attracting and binding water thereby decreasingfriction and offering support. It is produced by fibroblasts that have a highlyactive metabolism.

Ground substance fills the gap between cells and fibers as an amorphous material. When we look at ground substance from a histological slide, it shows only blank spaces and therefore it was difficult to identify. It has a consistency of Jello, but can transform from liquid to solid and back. Ground substance is an important barrier againstthe spread of bacteria and other microorganisms.

When ground substance is injured and hardens, it can change into a very solid form, like styrofoam, that tightens down the myofascia and will not return until there is some form of therapy or intervention. By smoothing out the ground substance and providing a correct electromagnetic pathway again, we increase circulation which thereby increases healing times.

Here at Inner Strength, we treatand teach how to vibrate this ground substance so that it irons out the kinks,so to speak, and returns it back to its gelatinous state. What does this mean?Well, as we age, we all have aches and pains. The baby boomers are probablyrealizing this by now with assorted diagnosis and afflictions that may very well be chronic - because the root of the dilemma has not yet been addressed.

So whether it is your best fuzzyfriend or you or a loved one, we can help you to become pain free and teach youhow to do this for others as well.
